Integrity

Integrity is personally defined yet in organizationally employed.  Here is a collection of Integrity comments composed through the years.  Take each, overlay it on what you believe then create a dialogue or make up your own Top 10 list.  It’s a great way to learn about yourself.

Origin
  1. Integrity starts in the dark.
  2. Integrity is what happens when no one else can see.
  3. Integrity is being the same person in public as you are in private.
  4. Don’t say in secret what cannot be said in public.  Your integrity is at stake.
  5. Integrity lost can’t be won back.
Ownership
  1. Our integrity is based on who we are, not who we were.
  2. Our integrity is our fault.
  3. Integrity is one thing you, and no one else, is responsible for.
  4. Don’t allow someone else’s compromise to affect your integrity.
  5. Those who have an integrity problem usually have someone else to blame.
Measurement
  1. What you allow defines your integrity.
  2. Integrity is measured by the cracks in its armor
  3. Your integrity can be measured by who you respect.
  4. Measure your life by small moments of integrity.  Overlooked heroic choices to do good.
  5. Integrity’s value is hard to measure…until it’s lost.
Action
  1. Your integrity is more persuasive than your words.
  2. Don’t allow feelings to rule your integrity.  Feelings only know how to react.
  3. Use your disappointment to increase your integrity.  It’s the choice to do right or wrong that refines integrity.
  4. Integrity is when your words and deeds match.  When what’s on the inside matches that which is on the outside.
  5. Do your best at what you do.  It’s your signature of integrity.  It’s your return on your investment.  It’s noticed by the most important person…you!

  1. Integrity comes at the price of convenience.  Don’t trade your integrity for convenience.
  2. If you have to cheat integrity to achieve gain, you lose.
  3. Sharing acknowledgement keeps your integrity intact.
  4. Exchanging personal integrity in order to appear good to others is like trading refined diamonds for fool’s gold.
  5. Integrity is something you keep or throw away cheap.
Power
  1. Popular is powered by acceptance.  Honor is powered by integrity.
  2. Love loves integrity.
Weakness
  1. Compromise tries to slip under integrity’s radar.
  2. A hole in your integrity is a gateway to infection.
  3. Integrity thrown away is like a cancer growing within.
  4. Gossip gallops away with someone’s integrity.
  5. Cast a shadow on another’s integrity and yours just stabbed you in the back.
  6. People don’t have a money problem…they have an integrity problem
Promise
  1. Make your promises carefully.  Your integrity is at stake.
  2. Don’t recommend what you can’t commend or depend on.  Your integrity is partnered with your word.
  3. Integrity keeps its promise.
